This notification system completely breaks any NX connection that isn't
on a gigabit connection. It also maxes out a CPU core on my server to
render the translucent fade. Was this tested at all in any kind of
multiuser environment?

It doesn't work in Hardy, which is an LTS release. The xen kernel
depends on the restricted-modules package, which depends on nvidia-
kernel-common, which is still displaying this behavior.

This happens with the nvidia drivers as well. Apparently it either
can't read EDID or it misreads the EDID, so it defaults to 1024x768.
The monitor is a 1280x1024 LCD, but it's behind a Dell KVM.

This is not an invalid bug. Hardy is still the LTS release. This
distribution shipped with the flashplugin-nonfree package. Please alter
the package to point to the latest release of Flash 9.

This bug still exists in Gutsy and Hardy, and now that the scsi
subsystem has been reorganized the linked instructions do not work.
The bug is now a year and a half old; please either fix it or mark it
