I have the same problem on a 64-bit Ubuntu 8.10 System
(2.24.0-0ubuntu2).
I tried to produce a Backtrace as described under 'Already running
programs' in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace, but after pressing
ctrl+c in step 5 gdb quits so I cannot retrieve the Backtrace.

I was not able to hit "Ok" when the dialogue came up in the terminal. I
just shut the terminal. Afterwards, I was not able to use apt-get
anymore the way I was used to.

I restarted the computer, removed the package, installed the package again.
When I was hitting F11 (could have been F10 or F12) I was asked if I accept the
EULA license. There, I was able to move the selection to Yes.
Problem solved.
