This also happens on the Thinkpad X40. Fresh install of 9.04. The same
problem:A suspend to RAM appears to work fine, but it cannot resume.
The status lights change, as if the machine was awake. The wireless
indicator even blinks. But the screen is completely blank, it doesn't
even look like th
I think the graphics driver may be part of the problem, but it seems odd
that I am not able to shutdown the computer with ctrl-alt-del. If the
keyboard was still working as you hint at, shouldn't I able to do that?
Also, my Intel X40 has a intel graphics chip (Intel Extreme Graphics 2
).

After upgrading to 9.04 broadcom wireless no longer connects and firefox and
graphics behaving strangely, everything worked fine with 8.10. Dell D600 laptop
Could you also attach the 'ps axw' result?

Etienne, if Keng-Yu's patch can fix this issue, the problem is very
clear now. The i2c commands used to turn on/off the LED on the webcam
are wrong for this model. The turn on function is not working, so the
LED is always dark even if you're using the camera, and the turn off
command will influence
Etienne, I have built another Hardy kernel package that might work fine
with LED. Since I'm not able to test it, don't have webcam with me, and
might have chance to test it untill next Wednesday. If you could test it
these days, I can send SRU this week. Thanks.

Vitor, thanks for the response.
The backports package will be contained in the feature release. The drivers
that are released after Jaunty will go into backports module, so that Karmic
should have them in default.
I'm going to close this bug, please feel free to reopen it if this
problem happene
According to bug 355117, it seems that karmic kernel 2.6.31 has fixed
this issue, could you guys give it a try. Images for testing are
available at http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/daily-live/current/ . Please let
us know your results.
