I second this.
mediatomb 0.11.0-1ubuntu1 (hardy) without the named bug fix does the same. It
all works fine except for adding playlists.
The log file yields :
WARNING: skipping /MultiMedia/Playlists/List.m3u : recursion not allowed!

Come to think of it, it would be even better if rhythmbox would allow
for playlists with a limited size, say 2G that could then be synced with
my 2G SD card
