Previously, gwenview showed a number of sample images for folders that
contain images. Extremely useful. Since I updated to xubuntu 18.04, this
doesnt work any more. I now only see the name of the folder. When I
navigate into the folder, I do see thumbnails. (jpegs etc)

Id also like that. I downloaded the xorg sources in kubuntu 11.10
(package xorg-server-1.10.4). The patch seems to be in there I think in
the file debian/patches/219_fedora-pointer-barriers.diff . I tried to
reverse it but haven't succeeded yet. I'm not an expert in this... Any

I tried the new compiz-cms plugin for color management by Gabriel Ebner
on ubuntu 12.10, both regular ubuntu and 'kubuntu' version. I installed
both systems in virtualbox starting from the live cd iso. (I still have
12.04 on my laptop). Then installed the plugin from ppa:gebn

When I start my hp envy 17 2100ed I see a bios message saying that the
computer was shut down due to overheating. There was no actual
overheating though.
I think it has something to do with the temperature of the discrete gpu

except that the computer is off, and then on. If I switch off and then

I think this has to do with vgaswitcheroo. In kern.log I see messages
like quoted below. I googled for this and found some bug that happens if
vgaswitcheroo is used to turn off the discrete graphics card. When I
turn it on again, the error for now goes away..

When entering from kubuntu I see a terminal and harddisk keeps spinning

I'm not getting far so not much to say. I tried to remove ~/.config/entangle
but not help. Also, tried to start with and without cam attatched. No effect.
