Just a note: update-initramfs updates the initrd for the first kernel
version it finds, not for the one are using.
I had to put it manually.

I don't think so because I had windows in it and it didn't freeze the way
it's happening now. In fact it happens when I am having a lot of IO, it
freezes for a few seconds and sometimes the some processes terminate.

What happens here is that when you install linux...rt it doesn't run the
dpkg-reconfigure for the depmod to be updated.
When you boot and try to use the image it will fail because depmod
didn't run
