Note I am not a developer so I am not sure if this could make things
worse ( I don't see how it would but I would like a second opinion from
someone more knowledgeable ) but if someone either has a spare machine
they can replicate this problem on or someone confirms that this is safe

sh -x might still be useful to see exactly what arguments are being

When booting the Edgy knot 2 liveCD on a macbook pro, when X starts
everything is streched horizontally and wraps around the screen such
that the mouse is almost an inch wide but only a few pixels tall and

Not to sound harsh ( and I am only speaking for myself, I am not a

complain about a bug in Software that you have been warned not to use on
a production system. If you are not prepared to re-install and possibly

Me too. I can verify that the same thing happens with Gnome. I've tried
dragging the video image, and it does what Lynoure reports, and I tried
dragging the title, and that had no effect at all. I've used Miro for a
long time, so I know that this is not the correct behavior.

I tried to close rhythmbox, it lagged a while until the "would you like
to force quit this application" dialog showed up. I did *not* force quit
it but instead rhythmbox crashed.

I suggest that if you know how you use the alternate CD to install and how
to install fglrx from the terminal after X crashes or in a chroot ( as I did
) because outside of this bug macbook pro support is *much* better in
Feisty, even screen brightness and keyboard brightness controll work out of

I installed vmware-player on Feisty and I got an error ( which I
unfortunately forgot to save ) I then tried to remove vmware-player at
which point I got this output from apt:

Why is this package still in the repositories in Feisty with the same
problem if it has been a known issue for so long?
I would like to add that this has been causing me to have to wait > a
minute for the postint script to fail _every_ time I do anything with

Yes, I have a macbook pro with everything working, One of the goals of
Feisty was intel mac support so I would try installing Feisty.

Yes, although the install CD does not work yet without tweaking some things
there are step by stem instructions but they don't seem to cover this
problem as I guess not everyone has encountered it so use these instructions
