Cleaning up the 64 bit issues is a work in progress. No, it won't be available

This is probably the same as #376128, which has been fixed in newer

@Stephan,
The purpose of RAID is reliability, not a power saving strategy. It is

Yeah, I think it does:
$ X >/tmp/foo 2>&1
$ grep -A1 ^sh /tmp/foo
sh: sed: not found
sh: grep: not found
Not loading fglrx module; not used in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
sh: sed: not found
sh: grep: not found
Not loading fglrx module; not used in /etc/X11/xorg.conf
$ which sed
/bin/sed
BTW that seems like a bogus check anyway; you could easily be running
multiple X servers with different config files.

There's a lot of confusing and unrelated info in here, but one clear
point (to me, at least) is that the "wext" wpa_supplicant driver should
be used with the version of ndiswrapper in Edgy, not "ndiswrapper".
This was discovered by me in comment #37, rediscovered by Jean Pierre in
comment #48, and

I wonder if there is some sort of mismatch in the backend. It looks like
2.4 added features, but perhaps the backend .so module doesn't match up.
Just a guess.

aplay gives: "Playing WAVE '/usr/share/sounds/startup.wav' : Signed 16 bit
Little Endian, Rate 44100 Hz, Stereo" but no sound. Just hangs there. I
know sound works on this system, I had it on breezy, but I didn't have the
headset then. I will re-install ubuntu sounds.
lspci output attached.
All switches - loudspeakers and mike on headset - are on. All volume
controls are all the way up. Note: Worked on Breezy, before I had the
headset.

If I select shutdown while in a KDE session the screen goes blanks and the cpu
goes to 100% (fan turns on). If I first "end session" and then "shutdown" from
the KDM screen this does not happen.

There is a relationship with the network, if I'm on a wired network this
problem does not occur.
