Okay, I tested the problem more. With upstream kernel, I can get the
picture to external display with HDMI if I boot the computer display
connected. But this way I can't get picture to internal display, even
though Ubuntu display manager recognizes internal display and extends
the screen to both of
I found a fix for problem. When enabling sata alpm, the external display
with HDMI works. If you want to get also internal display working,
connect external display after you have logged in to X. This fix works
for precise's and upstream's kernel.

Never mind; I tried it again and now the selective upgrade worked for
me. Yes, it seems to fix the bug. I uploaded two images, one image at a
time and some image editing in between, to Flickr without causing a
crash. That would not have worked earlier.

I encountered this issue on a Hetzner VPS. It is a KVM based virtual
server, not VMware. After rebooting I was unable to login through ssh.
Accessing the system from console was possible thugh running many
commands resulted in "Killed". The kernel stack trace was the same as in

Managed to reproduce it on the daily release of scratch. Seems that the
issue is that the more times you disable/reenable the spellchecker
(words completion as well and im guessing all other plugins) the less
responsive scratch becomes. Haven't had a look at the cause yet but i'll
do that today.

I'm also using a dual monitor setup, and my computer's connected to an
SCX-4200 printer, but I almost never touch the settings of either and
still encounter this bug after almost every boot. The crash is harmless,
