Hi there,
i fixed the problem but i do not know if it will work for you but I will
tell you what i did in case it helps you.
I think the problem occurred in the first place because I did not have
enough disk space to finish the upgrade and the packages were damaged
because of this.

Tried to upgrade two times but failing on texlive packages.
Upgraded to version 9.04 had errors.
Upgraded agin today to Ubuntu karmic again errors with installing texlive
packages.
I can't install any other packages.

Just been able to recreate the bug. This time I opened a .doc file which
caused OO to crash. Since I've been working with the same files
yesterday this is possibly connected. The .doc file has been created by
OO by converting a .odt file. This .doc file is apparently erroneous
