I think the probleme with jockey here is not the not correctly installed
driver (there was a bug in the package:

Its the missing error eessage/ warning when installing the driver with the
jockey-gtk.

But if I run "xrandr --output LVDS1 --off" (Display LVDS1 goes off) and

I think I've found the problem. And its probably not really a bug.
I selected the folder and want to set the bits for permissions from the files
in this folder.
This doesn't work. Every time I select the menu for file-permission it jumps
back to "--" (because its a folder and not a file).

Same issue here on 14.04 without upgrade to 14.10.
Installed and removed unetbootin. Then apt-get autoremove failed to remove
syslinux-themes-debian with exit status 127 from the post-removal script.

Same problem here on a ThinkPad X230 running Ubuntu 13.04.
The brightness-setting isn't saved and goes to maximum on every reboot
(annoying!) .
As a workaround i put
echo 10 > /sys/class/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness
into /etc/rc.local
This worked until the latest kernel update. Now the br
I have this already in my grub.cfg. Without this the Fn-keys for brightness
aren't working.

But this doesn't fix the problem with maximum brightness on boot (at
ThinkPad X230).

I 've now tested the daily build
(linux-image-2.6.36-999-generic_2.6.36-999.201010151118_i386).
Seems that swapon is working normally with this image.
No additional data was written to disk when swap was added to system.
