clamav-freshclam.service updates the clam database, and updates the
/var/log/clamav/freshclam.log.
logwatch does nothing to update "it". It only reviews the freshclam.log
file, looking for certain markers, to indicate that updates occurred, or
if there were any

A clam database update must occur at least once, for the freshclam.log
to get populated.

Nothing new to report. Until Canonical puts the dell-uart-backlight
kernel module back into the distribution, and fixes the
brightness/backlight code, we'll have to use xrandr to do it manually...
xrandr_brightness.sh, set properties to "execute as a program", right-
click and select "run

re: and directory /sys/class/backlight/ is empty.
All of that, using 6.5.0-41.
If i use 5.15 kernel, class/backlight folder is not empty
What do you see in /sys/class/backlight in either case?

Just to confirm, you have "acpi_backlight=vendor" in your
/etc/default/grub, and you did a "sudo update-grub", and there's still
nothing in /sys/class/backlight after a reboot with the 6.5 kernel?

Yes, we have the same problem.
In my testing, in 23.04 everything worked. It all broke in 23.10 and
24.04.

@tswhison The fix you refer to is for Ubuntu 16.xx... doesn't really
apply to current OS... and that web link doesn't take you do
downloadable drivers anyway.
