nVidia video drivers were successfully loaded in kernel 2.6.20-15-generic
no issues.
Update into kernel 2.6.20-15-generic was unable to display login window even
after 3min. No login "drumbeat" sound was heard.
Work-around using Answ
Apologies, kernel 2.6.20-16-generic was w/o display.
Installation of Nvidia binary drivers was done via Envy. Envy was
installed via download and apt-get

Experienced during:
a) Live CD
1) Using Synaptics Packet Manager and uploaded Universe and Multiverse on
Ubuntu mirror
2) Followed Howto: FakeRaid
3) Howto: FakeRaid included apt-get install ubuntu-standard
4) failed to download openoffice packages.

You are absolutely right, I killed my PC today (hopefully parts replacement was
on warranty) as well as two full days of attempting to get Ubuntu to dualboot
with Windows XP on SATA RAID0 and an IDE drive.
