Hardy but not under Intrepid Ibex.

For the moment, it is still an issue but maybe 8.10 will solve it with
pulse audio because the usb speahers works fine and I only have to find
how to force applications to use it.

I have tested Jaunty alpha-1. No problem during installation but I have
tested the USB speakers C-Media pleomax and pulse audioserver for
playing music and sound. Sound goes into the speakers of the PC and not
into USB speakers.
I have changed then parameters and used Alsa C-

I have Pleomax PSP usb speakers which works fine with exaile, totem
player, audacity,pidgin...but not with some others like VLC, firefox.
With VLC and firefox the sound goes into the jack speakers.
I have tried to configure firefox and VLC but in vain.

Following your advice, I found out that my java6 was the problem.
I removed java and in konsole:
sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre sun-java6-plugin sun-java6-fonts
(By the way, I tried to install it with Kpackagekit and had broken
packages...)

Thanks for your interest in my problem.
Wait I suspend, the problem is still the same: screen turns black, no
control of the computer possible with mouse, keyboard or fast pressure
on/off button , the only way to have control is to definitely turn off
the computer.

Same problem. I have usb speakers. No sound problem with other
applications like amarok. The problem exists in konqueror, firefox.
