Why is this low priority?
The issue still persists with IPP=1.
The "fix" for this is to set IPP=2 with nvidia-settings, but that casues
yet _another_ issue!

Same here on two different setups with different nvidia cards. On one machine I
had a full crash after upgrade from 9.04 to 9.10.
A fresh setup then worked, but then required again editing xorg.conf. My screen
resolution is 1600x1200.

Same here with Gnome Classic (upgraded 15.10 to 16.04) :(
When I unlock the system I find the desktop configuration changed:
- Terminator's window changes from the external screen to the built-in
- same for the application bar

Sorry I didn't mention that this is a new laptop which according to the forums
show that now who has managed to install Ubuntu onto the laptop cannot get the
touchpad working. I have tried v4.15 with no luck.
Are you able to help. I hate having to use w10 when I don't have access to a
mouse.

I solved the problem by installing hplip 3.12.4 from
http://hplipopensource.com/hplip-web/downloads.html (I downloaded the
automatic installer).
