I can confirm this bug running Ubuntu Hardy 8.04 with a Dell XPS M1330,
no USB power after wakeup.
Setting MODULES="ohci_hcd ehci_hcd" in /etc/default/acpi-support does
not effect the issue.
I really hope this gets fixed as its very important to me. I would be
glad to help in any way I can.

It sounds great to me, simple. If somebody wants to do it the "right"
way they are more than welcome to do so, but something needs to be done
about this ASAP in a world where Linux must play nicely with Windows or
be deemed broken. This is not a small bug.

I think this should be a much higher priority as well. It seems small
but it makes Ubuntu seem broken to the new user, and if things like this
aren't fixed, Ubuntu will not become usable for the regular person.
Bugs like this are extremely frustrating when migrating from Windows.

I have this problem in Intrepid. It started with Intrepid and did not
occur in Hardy.
When ethernet is connected and wireless is also connected, it is not
possible to use either device. The internet is inaccessible. I have an
Dell XPS M1330 with Intel 3945 wireless card.
Workaround: disable wi
7;ve tested this on three different wireless router/access points on two
entirely different networks, one which was network with a Samba-based
domain controller and another which was a Windows workgroup
configuration.

I can confirm this problem for Karmic 9.10. My wifi is at 50% when
right by the router (dual boot wifi in windows is much more powerful).
The signal drops and reloads when in the same room as the router.

I'm late to this discussion, six years late, in fact. But I stumbled
across this bug when trying to run "hidd."
What I needed was this: sudo apt-get install bluez-compat which added
