I got my system unbootable after deleting some "old" kernels, then spent
about an hour recovering the system, debugging and trying to figure out
why update-grub is not doing what is saying it's doing.
I'm using latest Ubuntu, of course.

I've just installed the 2.6.35-14-generic from maverick backports. It
makes me able to configure a dual monitor but after switching back to
single monitor configuration I report similar bug as Tim but my system

slows down and appears to be some inertia to the pointer movement and

brought php7.4 from version 7.4.3-4ubuntu2.24 to 7.4.3-4ubuntu2.26.
Unfortunately, after the upgrade, the php-ldap module no longer works.
This is the error I get:

I think I have more details to add: this bug happens always when the window is
out of sync with the real filesystem state. By example, see #12452: when it
happens, a subsequent rename will surely crash Thunar.
In general, it goes out-of-sync on network mounts quite often, so it should not

On Ubuntu 16.04 with Unity and Tickr 0.6.4, yet the problem seems to be
there. Every time a new feed is displayed Tickr gets the focus and I
have to retype whatever I was typing in the window that previously owned
the focus. Even enabling "Icon in taskbar" doesn't solve the problem.

If this "bug" still only affects Unity users, then chances are there is
no problem with the app code, but with Unity. It seems that setting a
rule in the Focus Prevention Windows (e.g. ... & class=Tickr) in
CompizConfig Settings Manager -> General Options -> Focus & Raise
Behaviour solves the issue
Upgrading to gedit 3.14 (through the Gnome 3 PPA) solved the problem for
me, although it broke another plugin (menu project manager) and doesn't
seem to fit well with unity. But at least the LaTeX plugin is salvaged.
