I have forgotten to metion, this bug only happens if the file was packed
in windows. So I think its a problem with the charsets.
above there are 3 files backed with Windows XP. The files in the archives are
zero-sized textfiles.
In test.rar and test.zip the umlauts are shown wrong.

Now I have downloaded the version RAR 3.93 from winrar.de and replaced
my "/usr/bin/rar" with the new one. (The original installed version was
RAR 3.90 BETA 2)
This solved the problem, BUT ONLY FOR .rar-files. The problem stays for
.zips.

It affects me too.
If i try to start gparted with the commands "pkexec gparted" or
"gparted-pkexec", it doesn't work.
But if i type "gtk-launch gparted" it works perfectly!

I was able to solve that bug for rar-files by downloading a new version of
WinRAR, see

but that makes me think that maybe the problem isn't directly in file-
roller.

The bug occurs when I input this in into the shell:

Today i upgraded to 13.04 - same problem here.
My openjdk-7 version: 7u17-2.3.8-1ubuntu1
While my eclipse crashed several times i also had Wuala and JDownloader
running (both java-applications), none of them crashed.

Now i manually downgraded to openjdk-7 version 1.7.0_15 from quantal
(12.10), but the problem persists.
The crash happens approximatly a half to one second after the code-
context-menu shows up. i don't know the official name of this menu, i
mean the window which shows up if you type for example "

I want to add that, if I connect a new usb-device after the freeze, the
pc doesn't recognize it.
For example, after one freeze I disconnected my USB-headset and plugged it in
