everything works as intended.
So the Bug must have entered some where between Version 2.6.32 and 2.6.33.
since 2.6.33 all the tested kernels have the same Bug

I added my two bugs to the list of duplicates because I really hope they
are.
I only experience the problems with kernel 2.6.33 and later with the
2.6.32 kernel everything works OK

smb seems to be OK with the packages from ubuntu-proposed.
But ftp still has some problems.
Although geany and scite seem to work OK now I got issues withquite basic
commands.
Testcase:
- connect a ftp share with nautilus.
- start a terminal and cd to the .gvfs/ directory
- then try the follow
The Bug seems to be kernel related.
I restored the last lucid kernel from by backup and using this one the
bug is gone.
Latest lucid kernel:

I can always reproduce the bug, on any samba share, even on shares that
reside on the same machine:
In Nautilus I right-click on a folder and chose "file sharing options"
to make it a writable share.
Then, again in Nautilus, I navigate to "network" and mount the share by

I had the same issue, the panels took a long time to start.
I didn't have the passwordless login enabled.
But turning "passwordless login" on, (remove the mark from "ask for
password" then click OK) and then turning it off again, (set the mark
"ask for password" and click OK) fixed the problem.
