Got the same problem with rt2500pci, the speed is only 1Mb. Executing
'sudo iwconfig wlan1 rate 54M' sets the rate to 54Mb:

I've got the same problem on my laptop with Intel 855GM graphic chip.
Same was with Alpha 2 btw. If I choose nonemodeset option it starts
booting but stops at some point showing a message about a'broken pipe'.

Tried Alpha 3 and got a similar problem as described above. I cannot
neither boot using a live CD nor launch the installer. I have tried with
'nomodeset' and managed to get to the end of the blue/white bar in the

I have not been using Xubuntu for a while thus do not need Gigolo at the
moment. Anyway I just have installed it and tried. The shares are

Yes, I cannot boot into Lucid Live CD Beta 1. First I have to set
nomodeset, but steel it freezes after a few minutes of booting. The only
message I had was something about ureadahead.

the only walkaround I currently know is to use ndiswrapper with 2.6.32
kernel (there is another bug in Ubuntu, which prevents to use
ndiswrapper with the current kernel). You can find instructions for
