We have same problem with DELL optiplex GX 620 and SIEMENS ESprimo E5915
with a upgrade from ububtu 8.10.
In the past we have upgraded ubuntu 8.10 from 8.04 and we got the same bug. We
fixed it by reinstalling

Hi,
I join several screen-shots showing differences between each version.
I found a solution with gnome-alsamixer for analogue headset I can tune
playback microphone (for monitoring) but it's not available with USB sound
card or headset as you can see in the screen-shot.

I confirm it. The is fixed. I have tested during 30mn without sound
problem. But the delay of 5s still persist il you launch module-rtp-send
first before module-rtp-recv.
