Looks like deleting banshee.db from ~/.config/banshee(-1) fixed the
problem for me. Something must be wrong with the upgrade from 0.13.x
although I thought we would have heard more reports about it from people
upgrading from ubuntu 8.04 to 8.10.

I'm using Midori 0.1.9 and this feature seems to be in there already.
With that being said, it seems completely counterintuitive and I
actually came in here to log it as a bug (because that is what I thought
it was). Maybe this should be something you set in preferences rather
than forcing it upon
I searched around and found someone that had a similar problem to me and
ended up fixing the problem. It turns out that even though the drive
came pre-formatted as fat32, the parameters of the formatting weren't
accepted by Ubuntu. When I reformatted using gparted, the drive started
mounting automa
just wanted to say that I ran into the same problem... didn't realize it
was just from using compiz so luckily it wasn't a showstopper :-p

My seagate external usb hard drive won't automount. I can mount the old
fashioned way but this doesn't please my wife (a linux newbie).

I ran into the same problem but when I followed zvpunry's suggested fix,
I didn't get an error when restoring. Instead, after I tried to open
f-spot I received the following error:
Unhandled Exception: Mono.Data.SqliteClient.SqliteExecutionException: SQL logic
error or missing database
at Mono.
