I'm experiencing the same problem after upgrading to Hardy Heron.
Wireless was working fine under Gutsy, however after the upgrade to
Hardy the wireless network still appeared to be configured in the
Network Settings dialog box however the network wasn't connected. When I
re-entered (the same) WPA
I had the same problem, but I turned off the bluetooth manager in
"sessions" (I don't have bluetooth) and that fixed it. (upgraded to
Gutsy from Fiesty, 64bit).

i updated to hardy.. two days without a freeze. I couldn't take my work
machine freezing up anymore.
I only have the one 64bit machine... if I end up with another one, I'll
revisit this bug..
However, I am 99.99% certain that in my situation powernowd was not the
offender.

I killed/stopped powernowd and the freeze happened again.

I would like to add my experience here:
upgraded a running ubuntu 6.x to 7.04. This caused an unbootable system, so I
reinstalled 7.04. I got an error 15 from grub. Problem was that the disk
order was different depending on if I booted with the install CD or without the
CD.

I have been working on a presentation for the past few days. I'm using
Ubuntu operating system, and saved the file as a .ppt. It's been fine
and opened yesterday. However, when I try to open it now it does

connection. Per recommendation by Hans (comment #32), I installed wicd
and uninstalled networkmanager. It has been 2 days and I haven't had

If I remember Mac OS X's VNC server does not support 32-bit colour...
thus you need to set VNC to use 16-bit colour.
I feel that patching VNC to use 16-bit colour by default should fix this

Yes, I think aside from building your own libc (and I'm not even certain
that would fix it) the only alternative at present is to use a different
toolchain or build your own. The binary toolchains from ARM
(https://developer.arm.com/open-source/gnu-toolchain/gnu-rm/downloads)
do however work fine.
(The work around mentioned in my opening post only partially helps, my
code eventually crashes, presumably executing a libc or other stdlib
function)

At some time building plpfuse for the 64-bit plptools package was
disabled. However, I have built plptools from
https://github.com/rrthomas/plptools/ and it works perfectly.
Not including plpfuse basically cripples this package, as backups cannot
be performed - plpftp doesn't

I have the same problem on three different installs on 2 different laptops.
Only one install (upgraded from 11.04 does not have the problem.
