installed the 180 driver from the restricted drivers manager, everything
works fine in the GUI, but when i hit alt+ctrl+f1, i get a black screen
with noise in the middle (kinda like an old broken screen)..

have to refresh the screen by hitting ctrl-alt-f1 then ctrl-alt-f7 to be
able to see the GUI..

Thanks for the link Milos.. i followed the instructions and when i run
"run gimp", it starts up and once i reproduce the bug, everything
freezes, i can't hit ctrl-C in the gdb window. i have to go to another
virtual terminal, log in and killall gdb..
when i do that, this is what i get in the debug
