Hello everyone.
Just a solution I have stumbled upon (even though I haven't had the time
to try it myself yet):
There is a way to use VirtualBox on Windows and have it boot directly
your real Linux partition instead of a virtual one. There are guides on
how to do that online and it should be easy
It's a really good piece of hardware and it is, in my opinion, a shame
to replace it with something inferior. It works great on Windows and as
I'm using it there I'm willing to stay ethernet-only on linux until it
gets supported.

i found solution just 5 or 10 minutes after posting this. if somebody
meets with same problem, there are some comands for terminal:
first type:
su (then press enter and enter password or set if is not for your root
user)
then type theese:
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get -f install
sudo apt-get
and yes, when it is finnished, just type:
exit
to exit from root user login.

I "fixed" this before seeing comment #2:
run-parts was returning an error code (2 IIRC) because I had removed,
but not purged, update-manager-core from these systems a few days ago.
That resulted in /etc/update-motd.d/91-release-upgrade being left
behind, which would attempt to run /usr/lib/updat
Root cause is update-manager-core removal does not clear no-longer-
functional /etc/update-motd.d script, breaking MOTD. Requires purge.

Is there some process that manages the auto-refreshing? Maybe if we
could see the running processes at the time the bug is occuring we would
find that someone has crashed. But we should know first how is nautilus
doing the "auto refresh" :)

Can somebody at least change the fallback theme to the ambiance buttons?
So you can change the gtk theme and keep the ambiance window decoration
without that ugliness.

After I logged in it was working for my first window (gnome-terminal)
then I open firefox and it got bugged. Then I relog and it's working
fine after I opened a terminal again and then opened and closed firefox
a few times. Seems kind of random.

Right clicking and choosing app name from menu should always open new
window, if you wanted the window already running you can just left click
after all.

@JeffV I think best solution for you is to set "expo edge" in expo's
preferences in ccsm (I have it on lower right corner).

Suggestion for
Empathy behaves ok on middle click - if the buddy list is not focused or
even closed (in the indicator) it just comes up. I don't see why it
would be a problem with right click -> Empathy. As for intuitiveness,
middle click can't score too high on that.

appearance tab while you're at it, you can set the brightness and
saturation of inactive workspaces.

exists now, a checkbox (maybe in the dash itself) that makes the

I can easily reproduce this bug on my system, if i close the last window
in a workspace, the unity panel still has its name (it has focus even
though it no longer exists) and no keyboard shortcut works (except the

by using "own_window_type override" in .conkyrc).

After upgrading to Kubuntu 10.10 beta, Dolphin can't paste files to
remote smb folders (Windows shares).
Using Konqueror 4.5.1, I can paste the same files into the same remote
smb folder with no problem whatsoever.

Same problem on my Ubuntu 10.04 pc.
Both in work (32bit) and home (64bit).
After a short period when I try to logout the screen shows only the background
picture and my mouse moves.
