In that case I would remove one at a time starting with eth1 as eth0 is
normally wired network. Basically network manager will only manage a
wifi card that isn't already managed so you need to remove the cards
details from interfaces so that network manager can use it.

NetworkManager --no-daemon
and log the results. Also could you check /var/log/syslog and see if
Network Manager is very verbose there.

resolved. There is now a new menu item system tools and the hardware
database is in it.
I still believe it would be better to put this into control center as it
would make more sense in there in the hardware section.

I have now found the cause of the confusion with this. If you look at
the print dialogue the default just says printer. Printer apparently is
your default printer. Where as every other app lists the name of the
default printer gimp just says printer. I only found this out today by
accident I hi

I can confirm that this is still a problem in Edgy beta although now
there is no record of it but it is available for launch if alt-f2 is
selected and aegis is typed in.
