On my laptop which is the 8400M machine if I run in 64bit I get no
splash which is why I run 32bit on it.
In 32 bit there is no problems everything displays fine. It is only in
64 bit land where I get those issues.

Daniel I can not even get an irc account setup in empathy. Gmail does
setup so it must be something with the backend/frontend integration. If

I have a compaq c300. It has an intel 3945 chipset in feisty everything
works fine. However in gutsy everytime I switch the machine on I have
to switch the wifi off then back on in order to get a connection. I
don't think it is an issue with n-m as once I switch it back on

It seems to be present in /usr/share/doc/ubuntu-artwork but firefox is
looking for in /usr/share/ubuntu-artwork. So I have now located the
folder but it makes no odds as the file isn't in it anyway :(

turn out xubuntu docs was missing from the install. Once installed the
homepage appeared on restarting firefox.
So the whole bug boils down to the netboot install misses the xubuntu-
docs package.

I can confirm this is the case. I didn't download any cd's until edgy
was released now I have done a fresh install my synaptic mouse doesn't
scroll and isn't installed in xorg.conf but in updates from dapper this

I have done that but what I am saying is that the music package should
be installed by default when using gnome-app-install if it is the only
thing used to install packages, which it will be for some, then they
will never know it has music plus there is an option to switch the music

Network manager can only run an interface that does exist.
If you have any configured interfaces in /etc/network/interfaces then
network manager can do nothing with it. Try commenting out any lines
that are in this file and see if it repairs the fault.

I went to select Nvu from gnome-app-install and it said it wasn't
available for install on this architecture. So I went into synaptic and
it isn't even listed.
Has this app stopped being made for 64bit? As it was available in
dapper and edgy.

It can not account for every site being written badly nor can it judge
what hardware the site is run on. Also the page loads quite quickly for

I have changed the title of this bug to lower confusion in the future.
I am also confirming it as scrolling up and down the site does cause
problems like blocking of graphics. Also I believe this to be an
upstream issue as it occurs in both Firefox 1.5 and 2.0
