Dear all,
I tryed the 8.04 beta ubuntu using x64 and i did have the same problem for:
Gnome start brings up the "System is running in low resolution mode" dialog.
System runs the VESA driver but detects the card as "NVIDIA GeForce 8 Series"
(that's all fine by me).
Monitor is detected as Plug 'n'

As i have to use windows Office I had to run crossover and as i couldn't
install the 64 or 32 deb package because of missing dependancies I tryed with
the install-crossover-11.0.3.bin installer. I get it installed but crossover
asked me to do this step to be able to work:
apt-get install ia32-li
after logoff login the bordures are back
