Yep, that seems to be the problem. Same happened to me, I updated whilst
using firefox. I just went into system monitor, kiled firefox and opened
a new window. Problem solved :D

That would be because the $ is already present in the terminal. Copy and
paste everything after the $ and you shouldn't have a problem :D
