Have there been any changes to the sl-modem-source that make it compile on
Intrepid with 2.6.27-11-generic?
Any solutions to the error:

to step in for Rechner-Tester. I have the problem of random hang-ups, too. And
yes, it still exists. I'm running a i7 2680 with Intel HD 3000 Graphics T420.
Problems with this GPU are reported for all linux distributions, e.g.

Had the same problem - but only once. Not reproducable. I notice that
changing to other X Terminal Ctrl-Alt-F8 and then back to Ctrl-Alt-F7
(can sometimes) bring X back. Sometimes not, then I restart service gdm.
