sorry for delay i was on vacation.
I couldn't reproduce the problem by openoffice alone but with
combination openoffice, firefox + coolpreview plugin. The screensaver
started working after I closed the openoffice as last.

Sure,
my current computer stopped working and I'll get a new one in one week or
so.
The current computer will be replaced by a new graphic card and MOBO.
The GPU will be the same as before so it should not effect the testing.

I don't have any interfaces in /etc/network/interfaces any more...
static ip setting works now!
the disconnect button does not work! I'm testing on switch with dhcp
configuration.
So if I try to disconnect from any setting it connects back to auto/dhcp

I tried this and it doesn't work. It might be the issue that I am
connecting to a Microsoft proxy server, but others, for example ntlmaps
does work. So from my point of view as a user it still doesn't work and
is not invalid.
Besides i think entering a password and username is highly unacceptable

I've tested again in oneiric and the bug is still there, so I'll leave

The problem is that the driver on the live CD enables
only analog output where digital output remains disabled.
Workaround would be to get the analog cable to be able to install and
update the driver. I had to do the same already with Maverick installation.
