with a MacBook 2,1 and immediately the caps lock and num lock lights
started working, /but/ i lost all other keyboard keys except for the

I had the widescreen resolution for my projector set up fine in 7.10,
but I have been living with "Low resolution mode" since I upgraded to
8.04. Something has obviously changed and broken things and I have no
idea what.
I have tried every driver I can and nothing has fixed t
still automatically suspends when power gets critically low,
but i can no longer see the current percentage. /proc/acpi shows only

Ok, sorry for my English. I make some tests with miscellaneous compiz
configurations. On my nVidia GTX 260 (Gold series, 216 cores, offical
nvidia drivers) with enabled VBlank and refresh rate 120Hz (monitor
refresh rate x2) compiz works good until:
- run browser (Firefox). FPS when dragging windo
Happened always when maximize windows with option "Keep previews of
minimized windows" turned ON in Workaround plugin in compiz. Also I
didn't see that previewing minimized windows works (Ubuntu 11.04 and
Mint 11), so I turned this off and for now I didn't see white window.

I can confirm that in 11.04 alpha2, when installing to usb stick using

I finally resolved the problem. I have also had another libXft and libfreetype
in my /usr/local. Eliminating the library of the application from my path
solved all my conflicts with the remaining applications.

I just finished testing kernels from 2.6.22.x (2.6.22-14.52) and
2.6.26.x (2.6.26-5.14) lines. All of them works fine. I don't have any
problems with downloading files. It seems that the problem occurs only
in the 2.6.24.x kernel line.

I get the error below when starting up kde 4, not all the time, but
lately yes, I'm not sure what causes it. I've installed all the upgrades
released for Hardy. The error sometimes takes out the minimize,
maximize, and close icons on the upper rig
I have a VAIO A617s which is essentially the same model (looks the same)
I have updated my Gusty install to Hardy and am sad to report that the problem
remains.
The behaviour is identical to that described above.

Have you tried with the "shortname=mixed" parameter in the fstab's
mount option?? the defaut is "lower"

I probably know how to fix hibernation.
Before I had swap partition = ram. I made swap partition 2*ram big.
Then I did things from: http://louboldt.com/ilinuxmisc.htm#uuidswap
Now, hibernation and suspend work perfectly for me :)

Too bad I really getting irated by it..
I want to try to fix it but I haven't got too far in that.
probaly more then the most people that are trying to help.
The solution looks a like a big puzzle on the internet.
If you got any news about it and as you make futher in it can you keep me up

My guess would be an issue with a common ui library. It's probably not GTK
(the problem doesn't appear for Gnome games for instance) but I'm suspecting
the wxPython library (it's used in both VLC and IcePodder, and possibly
Firefox plugins). Do you have any idea how to test
