I'm filing this since nobody seems to be taking the issue seriously that
the Dell Mini 10v, one of the few machines to be shipped with Ubuntu, is
entirely unusable with either the b43 or STA drivers. The solution to
the b43 incompatibility (DMA errors) - yes known bug, but no

HI,
Haha - ok so maybe the bog was superfluous!
Re. b43 (though I don't want to divert onto that issue here) - the

Just in case this helps - at best a clue, probably a coincidence: I have
been having all sorts of problems with ubuntuone, and one of them seemed
to match this bug - in fact it was the last one I'd followed up before I
got it working on this machine - what 'seemed' to fix it, and also get

Hi,
I've been using this for some time on 9.04 (amd64) with my K3760 usb
modem - really good piece of software, has been invaluable.
However, with 9.10 I am not able to connect either using VMC or Network
Manager. (Ongoing testing between work commitments I've no doubt made a

The same symptom (nautilus menu-bar visible behind top panel) is present
with Unity when compizconfig settings manager is used to set the Unity
Plugin panel Opacity to transparent.
In my case this is with indicator-appmenu removed to disable the
global(paininthebutt)menu.

I had this issue on 12.04, and I believe on 11.10 before that...but have
made it go away by switching between Desktop Cube to Desktop Wall and
back to Cube in ccsm (which requires disabling and re-enabling unity, so
not entirely recommended I guess!)
In the process I noted that I had Gnome Compati
Interesting - I was getting this bug using GDM > Unity (3d) - it was
shortly followed by a Metacity crash report (Bug #797078 ?) which seemed
odd - should metacity be running in 3d? Deleting .config seems to have
cured it but could just be a coincidence as I have done a batch of
updates since...
