Pedro, Thanks a lot for your reply. I'm sorry I was not able to answer until now. I created a new ubuntu user and started evolution on it, configuring the same gmail account i use under my user. This is what I'm using now and I have no problem at all to type the "lowercase o"; see: ooo ! I'
