My idea is that kwallet only writes the passwords on closing.
A system crash, or hard reboot will cause all the passwords inserted in the
active session, to be lost as well.
My workaround is to autoclose the wallets every 10 minutes (paswords
will then be saved). This is safer too, but for some

In kubuntu, the orgininal package comes with documentation pre-installed. So it
does not only point to khotnewstuff.
However, these docs don't exist.

Probably the same issue here. At least, the same result.
Some more information:
* Passwords appear in seahorse correctly. I can search, see and open them
there.
* htauth (popup) passwords are (still) stored and retrieved from seahorse
correctly.

A good way to illustrate this, is to share a large package of files in tarred
and untarred format.
The tarred version takes about 10 minutes to be picked up, processed and
uploaded.
The untarred, several hundred of tiny textfiles, has been syncing for over 2
days and counting.

For me, this means I either have to use rediculously simple passwords, or else
store them somewhere I actually can paste them.
In other words: I am forced to insecure workflows and manners because seahorse
tries to make things secure for me.

I can reproduce this quite often on high MySQL and/or Apache load.
Not always, but if I get a hogging iwlagn, it most often is due to heavy load
on my local mysqld and apache.
To me, this hints towards either heavy load on the localhost/loopback network,
or towards processes with higher (?) pri

Not certain if this is the exact same issue, but a very similar issue
can be observed running from the commandline:

Above comment comes from a bug that this behaviour introduced in a
project that uses chrome:
https://github.com/titusfortner/webdrivers/issues/168
So, besides it leaving around running processes (slightly messy) and not
closing icons (as observed by OP) it causes bugs (hanging) in scripts
and tool
It also occurs with a freshly installed chromium.
It can be easily reproduced:
```
$ pgrep chromium | xargs kill # kill any running chromium (beware!)
$ pgrep chromium | wc -l
0 # There are non running
$ /snap/bin/chromium --product-version # command quits immediately.
$ pgrep chromium | wc -l
The issues with dependant scripts like chromerunner are not solved
either.
Were external scripts considered when building this "solution" at all?
External scripts, running chromium, obviously, want the process they
spawn to exit -including any children that that process might spawn-.
Here is a trick that makes that suspicion even more probable:
Here is a screencast of how this affects me. At least in my occasion, it
seems obviously caused by many (many!) bookmarks in my menu.
Note that this is a blazingly fast machine, with lots of memory and only
SSDdrives; so the problem solves itself fast. When my bookmarks were
