I think the summary tells the whole story, this does not happen in any
other X terminal emulator, so I am sure it is konsole-kde4 and not
screen. To recreate this bug, open a kde4 konsole run screen, then apply
the key combination ctrl+a DD (this invokes screen's power detach
I experience this bug as well. Konqueror 3 is fine as is firefox,
konqueror 4 seems to make no attempt to load the applet. Regarding the
plugin not showing in the plugins list, it doesn't in kde 3 either. I
have set java path to /usr/bin/java.
Running konqueror from the shell I get:

Can confirm the same issue regarding hotkeys, all apart from sound are
OK. I have seen a few reports of this in IRC #ubuntu+1 and the
consistent factor would seem to be intel_hda as the sound card/driver
and KDE as the desktop. On screen display jumps from 0% to 11% and back
but no volume is change
same issue here, using kubuntu gutsy and dolphin, works fin in shell or
konq
