Hello,
Since at least last year, Firefox from the Ubuntu package fails French accents
that require a combination of keys like ê and ï.
However dead keys work on other programs like Thunderbird or Firefox binary
from Mozilla.
I guess this issue happened after an update of t

focusmanager.testmode from true to false and restarting Firefox. It looks like

I can confirm that my workaround (removing indicator packages) does not work
anymore with Xubuntu 18.10. Even using "dbus-launch nm-applet" workaround does
not work anymore. You can easily reproduce the issue by having WiFi switched

I got it working by adding the 2 lines at the end of the
/etc/apparmor.d/usr.bin.firefox just before the closing brack "}".
Without these lines, I had to use another workaround by disabling
Apparmor completely on Firefox with a command like "sudo aa-complain
/usr/lib/firefox/firefox" or using the o

Isn't there an automatic update to fix this problem? If an average user
wants to switch from Windows to Linux and has this problem, it would be
bad a very bad user experience and I don't think the user would like to
fix this manually.

Same problem here since yesterday evening, when I accepted updates on Xubuntu
16.04 LTS!
There is a kernel panic on startup, because of package
linux-image-4.4.0-98-generic.
Hopefully I can select an older kernel by pressing the escape key.
Any ideas where it comes from? I thought the LTS release

I'm using Xubuntu with the panel at the bottom of the screen and I have
fixed the scroll problem by removing xfce4-indicator-plugin and
indicator-application (I also removed all Unity indicator-* packages).
This way Xfce can directly use the notification area. Another solution
was to use dbus-launc
I also had this error on Debian when executing the command "tsocks bash",
followed by "sudo apt update" (which fails to use tsocks) or "sudo tsocks apt
update" (which uses tsocks successfully).
