the version in karmic is still broken (because nothing changed) and lucid has
now the debian package(kvirc kvirc-data and kvirc-dgb), but it shouldn't have
an old kvirc-dev package

The real problem is that KVIrc default script is broken in karmic, I
don't know why.
So it is a bug and not only a wish to have a newer version

Fix Released? The package in karmic is still broken because it was never
changed/repaired and the package in lucid is outdated. KVIrc has RC3
with rev 4262 and many bugfixes by this time. Even debian has 4 newer
versions in SID than ubuntu lucid.

vimeo videos with flash are playing fine. youtube HTML5 videos also play
fine. I tried a webM video with HTML and with flash, the blue faces
where only there with flash.
A blue shirt was displayed as yellow (so it is a total mix, not only a
blue filter)

The only thing I found in a logfile:

Just had a full home disk. Problem was mplayer writing "seek failed"
into run.log for the last day. I had a broken video file, that I deleted
when it did not start. Seems that one or two mplayer kept running in the
background. Had to kill it with -9.
