I was able to boot into the latest Kernel (4.0 rc7) by changing the OS type to
Windows 7 in BIOS.
I have tried the latest kernel. Issue seems not to be resolved. I can connect
to devices, send files, but i cannot connect to my bluetooth speaker(JBL Micro

The USB 3.0 port which comes with Asus X553MA seems not to be working on
Xubuntu 14.04. I have tried several kernels including 4.0 rc 4 mainline kernel.
Currently getting USB 2.0 speeds of maximum 30 MBps only.
This was earlier working previously with one of the kernels or
I have upgraded to latest 4.0 kernel - rc7. The issues seems not to be
resolved. Previously i have used 3.18 and 3.19 kernels and they also had

@Christopher, @Jane I have tried the 4.0 rc5 & rc7 Kernels. My laptop wont
boot with either of these Kernels.
So i updated the 3.18 Kernel to 3.19 rc4. Still the multi touch features like
double finger scrolling etc doesn't seem to work.

I have tested the 3.18.0-031800rc4-generic kernel.
Issue is still reproducible.

I am using an Asus X553MA laptop. My touch pad works well. But the features
like multitouch, scrolling etc doesn't seem to work.
I tried the below command and it didn't return any output.

This is actually an issue with a missing driver.
I have run the command to list inputs and returns following.
xinput --list

Installed linux image and headers(generic i386) and tried. That didn't resolve
the issue.
Noticed the following things in addition:
