Actually i was trying to reproduce it but couldn't too :-), a new byobu
installation looks just fine with ip address shown correct.

My pc boots directly to windows 7 and does not load the boot menu and i

Actually, the changelog entry needs to be updated:
1. the kubuntu_01_fix_desktop_file.diff patch does not remove any items.
2. Also I just ran desktop-file-validate on the desktop file from Debian, and I
do not get any warnings, ie. it is already valid.

I installed the compat-wireless-2.6.tar.bz2. Though my internet speed

My colleagues at work using Lucid were suffering from this bug when
accessing the SVN of a client. So I built maverick's subversion package
(1.6.12dfsg-1ubuntu1) for Lucid, and installed it on their machines, and
the problem got fixed.
