On Ubuntu 8.04 the suspend mode do not work on my Fujitsu Siemens Amilo
Li2732. It goes in the suspend mode without any problems but when I try
to wake it up it goes in a black screen. So I have to reboot.

I tried '/etc/acpi/sleep.sh force' from shell, as you said (via ctrl+alt+f1)
as root It worked the same as in Gnome.
The first time I was able to came back and the second time I needed to reboot.
I get this error:

the Fn keys I use to control brightness don't work on my Fujitsu Siemens
Amilo Li 2732. They used to work with the previous release of ubuntu but
now, with Ubuntu 8.04 (Hardy Heron) they stopped to work.
Do I have to post some logs? In that case please tell me what I have to

I've tested from Ubuntu 8.04 and the given command does nothing!
I tried as a user and also as root and nothing happens.
from 8.10 beta (releases at 2nd October) I am not able to get to the
shell! ctrl+alt+1 puts me in a black screen and does nothing else!

I am now on Ubuntu 8.10 "Intrepid Ibex" Beta (Released October 2nd,
2008) liveCD, so the tests refers on that system.
setting the brightness via System->Preferences->Power Management works very
well. At this point I think it is a problem with the Fn keys
new day, new test:
again on 8.10beta liveCD. this time Ctrl+Alt+F1 works and I am at the shell.
but /etc/acpi/sleep.sh does nothing. as user and as root.

For what I have read from the madwifi site (http://madwifi.org/) I understood
that the driver with AR5007eg support is not ready, but it's in beta stage.
It will be distributed with the next major release (0.9.5) until then the only
solution is to compile the module form the "testing" branch.

Update to the previous message
I booted alpha5 and than I've done some test. For testing the suspend mode I've
"log out" and in the login screen (when I have 9 seconds before automatic
login) I've suspend my pc.
After that I came back without any problems.
I've done the login, than again a log
I've tested the last alpha 5 for Intrepid Ibex 8.10 and now suspend mode seems
to work! great! thanks!

[To summarize, brightness control for Amilo Li 2732 worked in Ubuntu 7.x
and stopped to work in Ubuntu 8.4 and the same appens to the Alpha of
8.10]

I've the same wireless card but a different pc (Fujitsu Siemens Amilo LI2732)
and I can't make it work.
I am doing a test with the new Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron (beta!) and I will post
