This is annoying when I want to configure network interfaces via

Same problem. After I set Window state to "Maxmised" in global tab of
preferences (yes in the GUI), the default layout is OK now. The first
windows is not maximized.

Bump. For me typing break is indispensable. I have it in Gnome 2.x,

This is caused by resolvconf. If I uninstall resolvconf, NetworkManager
will put the DNS servers from VPN at the beginning of resolv.conf, which
in expected. This bug has been resolved at the GNOME Bugzilla.
