I'm running 8.10 and with an ATI RV515 [Radeon X1300] video card. When
all desktop effects are turned off video plays fine but when it's on I
see alot of video flickering. It may have to do with the driver since
with other drivers everything works ok.

4.2 from ppa repo.

With openchrome/trunk (up to 751) when I boot my computer the kernel
splash screen is misplaced to the bottom right (it looks like that if I

system does not boot (it hangs after discovering the disks). It does not
boot even with the old kernel. I have not tried the above solution yet,
but it seemed to me that there was a problem with mdadm.
