I'm facing the same problem, I did the update this afternoon and sound
stoped working, I have the same error messages, with a similar card:
M-audio Revolution 7.1 -- ICE1724. I tried deleting my
~/.asoundrc.asoundconf file with out any luck, please contact me if you
need more information.

I ended up re-installing from scratch and have no problems after a clean
install, sorry I can't be more helpful in tracking this guy down.
