I have the same problem.. I was on Ubuntu 8.10 then upgrade to 9.04 from
upgrade using update manager.
On the screen every time I boot, appears
ACPI:Expecting a [reference] package element, found type 0
This is disturbing as it stops here for a while before continuing the booting
process.

This happens since I upgraded to 9.04 from 8.10.
Before the computer switch off, in the screen "always" appear, a few seconds:
[.] power shutdown
It is disturbing, and shuting down is not clean.

I was working under Ubuntu (filesystem ext3), but the file is located in

It's a web application to update database, but it requires login and
password. The login and password screen can appear in windows/ie, but it
doesn't work in firefox.

According the information the system is under Appeon 5.1. When I use IE,
there is a process of downloading Appeon, before the login window
appears. In Firefox, it just a blank window, in status bar "done", and
there no process of downloading appeon.

I think it's already fixed in karmic. I tried in another computer
(Ubuntu Karmic, evince 2.28.1, poppler 0.12). It correctly renders the
gradient created by Inkscape. So this problem only in the old Intrepid
8.10.

I just installed LyX (from Ubuntu software center) in Ubuntu Netbook
10.10 (acer aspire one happy). I cannot see all menus. When I run from
terminal, I got the same message as already mentioned in comment #7. Any
possibility to see the menus? since LyX is unusable right now.

I tried to change the menu command using "QT_X11_NO_NATIVE_MENUBAR=1
lyx", but when I click LyX icon, it does not display. What is the
command in LyX properties (System->Main Menu->Lyx, properties), so I do
not need to type the command from terminal, but clicking the LyX icon as

I have the same problem in my Acer Aspire One Happy (Intel Atom 550, card
reader ENE technology) running Ubuntu 11.10.
It can be fixed by including "acpiphp" module in /etc/modules.
After rebooting, then reading memory card, just simply plug it in in the card
reader, and will pop up automaticall
