As you said, my network is indeed very restrictive, but that doesn't
stop the official client Yahoo! Messenger from working ok under Windows
XP on this same computer. If communication over 5050 were required by
the the Yahoo protocol, Yahoo! Messenger should be blocked too. To my

All the Controls that don't have customisable colours (except for Human)
don't work with the windows in System->Administration (except for System
monitor). I'll soon attach a screenshot to understand better what I
mean.

I just dragged and dropped the theme's archive file on the Appearance
Preferences window.
My problem is solved now but still, there should be some way for the average

nope, not as it should.
i selected "Model: Plug 'n' Play, Resolution: 1280x1024 @ 85Hz" and loged off.
After that, the log in screen behaved strange. I couldn't see the lower options
bar, but i could scroll my view to it. Now when i look to the Screen and
Graphics Preferences

I probably should've mentioned it earlyer, sorry i haven't. Since Ubuntu
7.10 everything is all right, the processor activity is normal no matter
what analyser I have activated. The bug can be closed as far as I'm
concerned.

I found the reason why I couldn't add a new DNS address. It was because
in my case, the small window was already full with 3 addresses. To be
able able to add a new one, I have to stretch the window bigger.

I just wanna draw some attention on this "Screen and Graphics Preferences"
issue.
Yesterday I went back to play a little with the settings. Unfortunately, I
managed to make my computer unable to boot just by selecting Screen 2 as
default.

I was trying to record another compiz bug when I discovered this one. Steps to
reproduce:
*Ubuntu 7.10, compiz, custom set of effects.

I just noticed that the problem is in fact somewhere else. All the
videos on my computer look pink and unreadable on all the players I have
installed. The video I uploaded actually looks fine, so there's no bug
with recordmydesktop.

i wanted to use compiz with the ubuntu included mesa drivers. i'm a linux
beginner so i looked for tutorials. the only ones i could find for
installing compiz + aiglx referred to gandalfn's repositories.
if you could give me a link to a how to that uses the official compiz, i'll

System monitor is showing 100% processor activity when Amarok runs
maximized, even thought the computer is pretty much idle and Amarok is
not playing any song.
I also noticed that when i cover Amarok with another maximized program,
for example Moz
during a collection rescan, Amarok sais it crashed and made this error
report, but it went on with scanning and worked fine after that.

I tested a little bit more, and found out the problem. It happens when
the folder is named "cover" or "artwork".
I'm pretty sure this aspect is not documented anywhere, and that is the
main problem here. Maybe the Cover Manager should make this aspect
obvious somehow.
