I can't believe HTTPS hasn't been switched on in the 2.5 years since
this bug was reported. It's a commonsense move that even Linus has made.
There are truly no arguments against it. It's farcical to report kernel
signatures, but then not provide either the package or the signature

Explicitly loading the intel driver in xorg.conf and enabling DRI3
appears to have worked around this issue in Chrome/Chromium, using
intel's latest driver distribution.

Hello all,
After going a bit grey, I found that /sys/class/backlight/toshiba breaks
after suspend, but /sys/class/backlight/intel_backlight continues to
function ('echo $number > backlight' after resume from suspend). Some
great folks over at Arch have figured this one out. I have a Toshiba

Just to add, I noticed above that the original bug refers to nvidia
rather than intel graphics, and the fix I listed is particularly
appropriate only for Portege laptops with Intel graphics. The symptoms
for intel graphics seems to be identical to that listed in the original
bug report.

I came across this problem with a Wacom CTH-470 in 13.04. (It's
recognized as a "Wacom Bamboo 16FG 4x5", which isn't exactly correct.)
I have Intel graphics and no nvidia-settings, so I believe the bug is
upstream.

Yes, a similar issue has cropped up again in 11.04. I haven't yet
figured out what kills the decorator, but it disappears spontaneously
(perhaps after suspend/resume?) and can be recovered with "gtk-window-
decorator --replace" as mentioned by Bryce.

I can confirm this bug remains in both 2.6.38-8 and 3.0.0rc1 kernel with
an R705. It seems it still needs to be fixed upstream unfortunately.

This bug continues to be present in focal, with no effect from updated
