I can't believe this. Ubuntu/Unity is supposed to be touch/tablet
friendly but as a convertible laptop user (X220T with pen and touch)
this kind of ambivalence is maddening. I expect to do a little tinkering
to make things work, but it feels like we've been hung out to dry.

ddate is still missing from util-linux on 12.04 as of today.
I expect annoying problems when I upgrade, but I did not see this
coming. It's this kind of thing that is keeping Linux from being ready
for the Desktop.

I am experiencing this error on an X220t with Natty Narwhal. Is this fix
going to filter down through proposed, or what should I do in order to
use it? Thanks.

I have a ThinkPad X220T (convertible tablet) which has Intel graphics
as well. I have the same issue when I rotate using xrandr manually, or
with the screen resolution applet. The area of screen which is "blank"
is still usable by the dock and menubar, but does not seem to have
rotated properly.

Hi all, the fact that the dash appeared in the "blank" area made me
think it could be a higher-level interface issue, so I tried logging in
in "Classic mode" -- and in that mode xrandr works well -- I do not have
this issue in classic mode. So I guess this is probably a bug with Unity
-- at least f
I can confirm that this problem affects the ThinkPad X220T while running
Unity. The X220T uses the Intel HD 3000 chipset. However, the fact that
normal applications cannot use the black space, but the dash does (in a
rotationally-challenged way), made me try logging in with Classic Mode
enabled, a

I'm running natty-proposed on an ThinkPad X220T (SandyBridge like the
rest) and haven't made any video changes manually. I can boot properly,
but have seen the "vertical lines" output once or twice when detaching
an external monitor. Not sure if you guys think this is a related or
different issue.
I can confirm that the fix in #38 works on my X220T. I haven't updated
the bios or made any other graphical changes.
