For me the issue seems to be cause as the VMhost for this Ubuntu guest has
netskope / goskope.com installed and https traffic is inspected by way of a
wildcard certificate.
So yes, there is an issue with the cert, but it should be possible to manually
allow this operation to proceed anyway like
investigate (this was working fine with vmhgfs kernel module).

My configuration.
Client joined to domain with uidNumber set in AD.
smb.conf with winbind offline logon = yes
/etc/security/pam_winbind.conf with cached_login = yes
PAM configuration is the "default"
nscd and SSSD are not installed / configured.

In 8.10, toshset (still?) does not work. Apparently (grep -i tosh
/boot/config-2.6.27-7-generic), the kernel toshiba support is not
enabled, so no toshiba or toshiba_acpi modules are there.

Seeing the same problem here, I just wrote a little script to analyze
how often the unmounting happens. It checks the Private dir every
minute, and if it appears to be unmounted, it spits out a message and
remounts it. The message is accompanied with a timestamp. If somebody
wants to try the script
I'm encrypting ~/Private only. There are tons of cronjobs running on
this machine, several of them as my user. The unmount takes place every
now and then, but not with every run of a job. Maybe I have to run more
than one job at once for this to happen? But then again, I think Cron
serializes jobs
I see a similar crash with jaunty, jdk 5 and jdk6 and openjdk. This
worked with intrepid.

I can now confirm that the unmounting only happens at times when two
cronjobs are run as my user. None of the jobs is supposed to do anything
in ~/Private. The bug doesn't happen every time, so this seems like a
race condition.

not use in wine-preloader. The stack protector uses the %gs register and

I can confirm that this bug is present in both totem-gstreamer and
rhytmbox in Feisty. For any web radio stream in OGG Vorbis format, they
will only play the current song. When the stream switches to a new song,
the client will appear to continue downloading - but there is not any

I received a Meeting invite from a Lotus Notes system and when I accepted the
meeting - evolution tried to reply to sender, then it froze.
I ended the program "Force Quit" - and restarted Evolution - then it crashed...

If you look at my patch above, it removes the ubuntu specific patch
07_azureus-themed.dpatch that causes the crash from the patch list.
If just some Ubuntu MOTU developer would have time to try this out, we
would have a fix in the repositories.

The problem seems to be the patch 07_azureus-themed.dpatch. If you pull
this patch out of the ubuntu source, azureus will not crash at startup
(unless you are experiencing some issue that is different from mine)

I have attached the log file from azureus that identifies the particular
startup crash that my debdiff (removal of the azureus-themed patch)
solves since the bug reports above suggest that there may be several
distinct causes.

When this package is availible in the repositories, the process of
running another OS in Ubuntu is as easy as enabling "QEMU launcher" in
"Add/remove programs". That would be a one-click virtualization solution
that "just works".
