Ok, thanks, I will try the patch, if I will have time to compile the
kernel :-) (maybe tomorrow).

Well, this is strange...
I modified /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base as you wrote, and tried 1., but nothing
changed. Then I tried 2., but still there is no difference.
Maybe I should try with kernel 2.6.22? Or, can make a difference, that I use
Kubuntu?

It seems, that this isn't fixed in Gutsy Beta. I tried it with a Fujitsu
Siemens Amilo Pi1505, and it has absolutely the same problem that had with
Feisty.
Would be good to fix this for the final 7.10.

I also have a very similar problem. The problem exists in a Fujitsu-
Siemens Amilo Pi1505 notebook, with Feisty, and also in a computer with
Edgy and Feisty.
If I log out, and choose Shutdown from the kdm menu, it works well, but
if I try to shutdown from KDE (Log out... --> Turn off), the noteboo
My dictionary.lst has the same permissions (and I'm affected by the

Thanks, joedekangeroe!
I installed the "openoffice.org" package (and its dependencies) and seems that
this solved the problem.
(I think, that this is not default because it depends on "openoffice.org-base",
which is not used frequently.)

The same problem with me (Kubuntu Feisty).
The version is:
openoffice.org 2.2.0-1ubuntu3
In my system there is only one file called DicOOo.sxw (in
/usr/share/myspell/dicts), and if I try to open it, Openoffice.org
crashes, the recovery starts... the same problem.
